I couldn't have been happier when my friend Michelle requested a blog post about Secret Santa ideas. The challenge : gifts for a co-worker under $25. Must be able to purchase in store. Here are just a few ideas I thought up for Secret Santa gifts or any lucky lady on your list this year.
1. Knit Head Wrap : Found on Etsy, but know they are available at Baubles and Bags on Northwest Highway in Edison Park. $18 in store. For other knit headwear ideas, try here.
2. InStyle Subscription : One of my favorite gifts ever was a magazine subscription to Cosmo (thanks Jackie!). I loved the idea of getting someone else a subsription because it's not always something you would sign yourself up for. I chose InStyle because you really can't go wrong with it and the price was right. Full year: $23.88.
3. Stila Lip Glaze : I can never have enough lip gloss. Ever. These little guys are perfect to throw in your purse, leave at home or in your desk at work. Sephora. Mini Set: $25.
(If you had me as a SS, I wouldn't mind 3 of these.)
4. Essie Chinchilly & Tomboy No More : So maybe these are 2 colors that I want. That's ok. These would be a great gift for anyone. $8 each at Ulta. Jazz up the gift : find a cute bowl at Target, include emery board and hand lotion. Put all ingredients and tissue paper in bowl, drop in clear bag and tie with a bow at the top. A mini mani set!
5. Pashmina : I can also never have enough scarves or pashminas. I think they make such a nice gift any time of year. Don't know what color? Consider the jacket they wear to work. Get a contrast color for that or get a fun print. $27. (disclaimer - I realize the link is for an online shop. However, pashminas are everywhere you look. Need help finding one? Call me, we'll shop together).
6. Personalized Stationary : One of my favorite gifts of all time. These, from Pink Loves Brown in Oak Park, are just so cute. 10 for $20.
7. Chicago Flag Soap! : At only $4 each maybe you should just buy a bunch and give one to everyone on your list. They're hilarious and perfect for any Chicagoan. Etsy seller in Chicago.
8. Glitzy Peace Ornament : Don't forget what the season is all about. Doesn't hurt to cover it in glitter, either. $9.50 at Jayson Home and Garden.
9. Pearl or Starlight Party Earrings : (I realize these are not from JCrew) While I myself love a gigantic pearl, sometimes you just need to switch it up. These are super classy and perfect for the season. $22 and $26 from Banana Republic.
10. Yo Yo Necklace : Handmade with silver toggle clasp. I picture this with a white t, cardigan and jeans. Plenty of other ways to dress it up or down. While I know this is also online, the seller is in Chicago. You might be able to pick up the item to avoid shipping costs. The seller has tons of other cute things including cocktail rings, my fave. $27.
11. Honorable Mention : Not pictured, but.......Visit Nika Butik for any jewelry ideas. A lot of the items on this page are around the $25 mark and I could use just about any of them. I especially love this.

#8 is so awesome.. everything is so much better covered in glitter.
Thanks so much SECRETary!!! This exceeded well beyond my hopes for the topic and is essential for all areas of gifting this holiday season (not just the Secret Santa affair)! I can't wait to see more gifting ideas in the near future :)
Love.it.all!
While my sensibilities find their home a little North of Glitter Town, I either have or covet almost everything on your list!

#2 - This is a gift I give regularly. Please don't tell any of my friends or family but I rock out the Amazon magazine subscriptions just about every year around this time. I find that this works especially well for gentleman callers too. You can give Maxim for $10, GQ for $12, or Esquire for - get this - $5. The deals on Amazon for magazines are amazing (http://alturl.com/nf5d).
#'s 3-5: Want.
#6 - I'm so excited to see that you know about Pink Loves Brown! I've been following her blog, makingitlovely.com forever now and have spent more money in her store than I'm likely to admit on the internet. My fav thing from there? The personalized book plates! For people as nerdy as I am it doesn't get much better.
Sidenote: Nicole, the proprietor of PLB, is about as nice as can be. I've met her a handful of times including a few weeks ago at the DIY Trunk Show (http://www.diytrunkshow.com/)
#7 - Maybe it's just Monday but I think this link only goes to the Yo yo's! Is this the one you intended? http://alturl.com/7wen ?
#9 - Big pearls = big win.
#10 - Saved as favorite, will most likely purchase and gift to myself shortly, along with 4-7 rings from this seller.
In a final note to end this novella...where have you been all my life? We should have been at The One of a Kind Sale and the Renegade Craft Fair this weekend, neither of which I made it to and both of which I think you would have loved!
Thanks everyone! Michelle I'm working on some more ideas....
Lauren, your comments are amazing! I have signed up for Renegade before and didn't pull through. Never been as a shopper, though I'd love to go. We'll have to exchange blogs :) As for the glitter, Martha got me sucked in. I'm a follower.
