SS Tip #27 - Mixing, Not Always Matching

This picture, from Eddie Ross, just got me:

Look again.

It's the "eclectic mix of personalities and patterns" that did it. Leopard, ikat and toile. Hot pink throw down the center of the sofa. Paint splattered walls and oversized geometric painting. This is a snapshot of Eddie Ross' window display for the Bloomingdales Big Window Challenge. There are a lot of things about his room that I love (especially the mix of antique and new pieces), but the sofa is just really something.

Did you see Eddie Ross on Top Design? Once upon a time he worked for House Beautiful and then later for Martha Stewart Living. Now he's got his own blog and seems to be showing Martha how it's done. Read more about his winning window here.
